slap 'n' dash

after football, we went along to the heavenly slap 'n' dash studio to decopatch and paint.

Isaac chose to decopatch a dinosaur (i did a plant pot which you can just see on the table) and then we brought dug in - painted his paw with with green paint and imprinted it into the dog bowl (he was not impressed!)

Isaac did the rest of the design. it will be fired and be ready on wednesday. looks great; i love his lettering - all freehand.

football hero

Isaac, stripey guy (second in from the right) blocked this shot from paddock wood and set it up for felix to score!

man of the match indeed (or am i biased?)

football nanny!

took isaac to football today, and cheered my heart out from the touch line. his team played two games against paddock wood, drew the first 1-1 (isaac got the equalizer) and the second was 5-2 (thrashed them) isaac got one of the goals.

excellent fun - he is a star!!

poor little car...

vic was driving the 'baked bean' when the clutch cable decided to snap just as he was going onto the A21 - lucky for him there was this little slip road bit. AA to the rescue (only trouble was our cover had lapsed as so we had to join again over the phone) and then get towed to a garage in tonbridge.

anyway, all fixed now; the garage even WASHED the car afterwards (inside and out) think that was to take our minds off the bill!!

couldnt resist this...

the craft shop I went all the way to Hailsham to visit last wednesday was CLOSED would you believe it, and so instead found myself in a sewing shop called the Pumpkin Patch, which was really inspirational. wish I would sew - got put off completely at school in the 2nd year when, having been pushed into the sewing class (instead of art) we spent the next 10 weeks to the end of term making a green apron FOR COOKERY! now, I cant sew or cook (dreadful lessons!) and have been making up for lost time ever since, going on arty/farty courses whenever I can..
However, I can knit (squares and long squares) and I love exciting wool/yarns whatever. Love the big chunky needles and this wool was made up into a small blanket in the shop - it looked so lovely I bought a ball (yes, just one because I doubt very much it will get to blanket stage) but its therapeutic and something to do while watching tv instead of eating chocolate.

love this symbol...

bought this 'blank' from Hobbycraft, just because I love the symbol. drives me nuts when I have to type it in an email though as one has to take ones fingers off the keys to press caps lock - why cant it have its own key?

This was decoptached with an assortment of leftover scraps of paper using  the glitter decopatch glue which is quite fun. Now, where to put it.....

a pile of bricks...

saved these lovely wooden bricks from going to the charity shop (thanks Amy!) because I thought I could do something with them, like decopatch them for instance.

then I found this gorgeous (was rusty) old key in a junk shop and as decopatch paper goes round anything, thought I would see how it turned out. might make a nice housewarming gift with some ribbon tied on it or a 21st token (do people still get a key to their parents front door at 21?) my mum and dad are thinking about giving me a key to their house, and I am 56!!

Anyway it was fun to do, and so now when next we go to a boot fair I will be looking for old chunky keys to decopatch.

thinking about christmas...

bought a huge box of baubles from a charity shop - 50 for £1.00 - and now I need to do something with them! I also got this wire thing for 50p - think its supposed to hold a tea light so I'm waiting for a flash of inspiration to transform it.

Have made a start with a little decopatch reindeer; the only christmas paper they had at 'Slap 'n' Dash' the day I went was this red and gold one; trying to get in the mood for all things christmas. want to make all my cards, presents and decorations before 1st December....Hannah's birthday...usually I wait 'til after but then of course its then too late and off I dash to the shops on 24th December. NOT THIS YEAR...
