up early today, vic at work, waiting for man to come about the boiler (he didnt turn up) but it galvanised me into cleaning the house, putting on some washing and in between trying some craft ideas out... not the best photo but its my attempt at a mini quilt using big shot dies and fabric given to me by penny berry. i have managed to ruin the iron and got bondaweb on the ironing board cover (dont tell vic) so my next project will be to make a new ironing board cover and find the iron cleaning stuff...............
ivy is recovering well in hospital; went to see her today and amy and the children were there too so we enjoyed a costa feast in ivys room before leaving her in peace at 7pm...drove home in the rain and stopped off for fish 'n chips for supper. vic is of course now watching the golf
i am putting a link to rachel's blogs on here - not sure how to do it properly but she is going to give me lessons...the other blogs i follow are listed under marigold i think.
A life in a suitcase
this is a better photo - not saying the quilt is, but it was fun to do. the welcome was added digitally via picasa!

a craft weekend...
dont know how i managed it, but i have spent most of yesterday and all of today creating (a mess) at home. took the car in for them to look at the emissions problem so cant go far until its fixed. did the washing and all the boring jobs and then i was free to play. sun came out this weekend and ive had the doors and windows open, curtains blowing in the breeze, 6 music on the radio and a fridge full of wine and chocolate. this is what ive made..
a dvd case (?) or sandwich bag, using my fat squares from the gorgeous knitting shop in hastings. watched a video on youtube and managed to follow the instructions.
a little makeup bag (using fabric i made with scraps ages ago), some tags and a flower brooch with the free calico i got in a magazine today. vic came home with a present for me - a new publication called 'crafty magazine' - its lovely to read and the ideas for the calico were inspirational.
a cushion (envelope style) made with some bits of material we bought in rye a few months ago,in the annie sloan paint shop... used my big shot to cut out the stars, using bondaweb to stick them on! even made my own cushion insert.
i also made this little' nappy sack' bag with a scrap of hannah's cath kidston material, and made a hook to hang it with as i couldnt master the drawstring idea! need some practise. the antique toys i got at an antique fair and charity shop yesterday...

happy easter 2013
lovely easter weekend, amy's 40th birthday lunch, niralee and john's wedding, a new outfit, a whole day of crafting with hannah and a day with vic - what could be better. plus gorgeous flowers - some from amy & matt and some from natalie and joel, AND chocolate easter eggs from hannah and mark. thoroughly spoilt.
