snowed in for the day in hawkhurst

sunday jan 20th jan 2013- we were snowed in!  lucky we have a little convenience store a few yards from home!

   although vic has the flu and spent all day in bed yesterday (and missed NYE) we decided to take a short walk to the local shop today to buy a paper and some ham plus strepsils! gorgeous day, blue sky and sunshine; think the fresh air did us good.

back home for coffee and mince pie. vic now laid out on sofa holding his head. happy new year!!!

CHRISTMAS 2012

christmas 2012 was good.  we spent christmas day with hannah and mark and ivy - although hannah had to work 2-8 we made the most of the day. visited amy and matt and the children for a few hours in the afternoon, played articulate, ate french bread and pate and drank wine...mark cooked dinner and when hannah came home we sat down to eat a delicious xmas meal...no room for pudding though and havent touched any since...will save it for new year!

boxing day with hb and mark at our house - walk round bodiam castle, drink at the pig, game of balderdash and watched 'the holiday' to round off a perfect day.

thursday we saw joel, natalie and the children (they popped in to see nanny ivy beforehand which she enjoyed) we had gammon, chips and beans for lunch and a marshmallow jelly plus trifle that natalie made and was scrumptious. 

we had lovely presents from everyone - homemade produce, calendar of the grandchildren, dvds, books, everything was wonderful.
