sunday 29th aug

lovely day today, alexandra park with the other side of the family!  children were angels and weather held until the last minute, then the heavens opened but it did not dampen our spirits!

finished decopatching  my chair last evening, needs varnishing now...

the chair

this is the chair i bought last week at the antique market in hastings. was in the mood today to begin its tranformation!
gave it a warm bath first to get rid of the dust and dirt, then made a start with the decopatch papers. ive chosen a black and white theme - two co-ordinating papers in one design and a black/silver/white in another.

made a start with the papers here, but realized it would need more. luckily there is a brilliant place not far away, called slap 'n' dash which has a good range of papers so  went off  to get them; returning with (hopefully) enough to finish this project!

going to watch 'lie to me' now so won't do any more tonight.  this is as far as its got ...

next project

had a lovely day in hastings old town yesterday, scouring the junk/antique shops for items I could decopatch for next craft stall.

The Old Town is so vibrant with loads of gorgeous little specialist shops - like 'Little Treasures' and 'The Vintage Bird'   came home inspired ( also a little plain wooden chair, an antique key and a childs building block). Can't wait to get started...

Next stop, the world famous Judges Bakery for some poppy seaded bread,  meringues and bread pudding for vic. Then it was time for fish and chips on the seafront -  felt like holidaymakers!

and after...

sunday crafting

I have been researching Decopatch on the internet  recently and have become slightly obsessed! Decided to start a blog today rather than a website and see what happens.

This is hannah posing for the 'before' picture - Tilly's bedroom chair which i had fun doing
my mum's garden table which was going rusty so i decopatched it - only had PVA glue at the time but now its varnished its ok!
while im on the subject of gardens, thought i would add  the link below.
