a perfect christmas

with mark and hannah in their lovely house - note the 'alternative' xmas tree!! we went everywhere xmas eve to find a tree but couldnt find one... so we made do with this (its original at least) it really was a perfect day, lots of fun and laughter and glorious lunch!

ivy's yorkshire puddings!

here is little ivy, checking the progress of 'her' yorkshire's... she helped to mix the batter with aunty hannah and then kept a watch through the glass door to see them rise to perfection! shame she had to go home and miss the roast pork dinner... with roast potatoes, gravy, parsnips, carrots and rhubarb pie and cream for afters...

snowed in again...

still no work today, snow is deeper and more scary! this is the view from my living room window. wish it would hurry up and thaw now, had enough!

xmas decorating!

after deliberating for weeks about my 'christmas colour theme' we threw caution to the snow today, got out all the decorations we had, and put them on the tree!!  it was much more fun - ive given up on the idea of doing the 'perfect christmas' - far too stressful and who on earth cares anyway! (well, maybe Kirsty...!)

this is 'the moor' yesterday when we ventured out for supplies! looks really quite bleak but we enjoyed our little walk. bought some more milk and bread; thank goodness for our little spar shop!

christmas hearts

made some xmas hearts this week (nothing better to do!) while off sick.  this one is aluminium wire covered in fibres and ribbon, with felt flowers and buttons for good measure.  the other is one i cut out of bazil card stock, stuck on trimmings and inked the edges.  only need to make about 20 more and my tree will be done except that i have still not decided what the colour theme should be!
walked around Cath Kidston store in twells yesterday - just love everything in it - came out with nothing as i couldnt decide what to get.  then complete opposite - the White company - all silver glass and white baubles, and wrapping paper for £18.00.  my tree from last year is black, vic says not good idea to spray it another colour. oh what a dilemma - kept me awake half the night!!

our little village shop

this amazing little shop sells everything and is a post office too! plus booze and newspapers and chocolate banana's which vic buys me a couple of every time he has to visit the shop - we support our shop as much as possible 'use it or lose it'
