new year, new me

New year new me?
I've just worked out how to get back on my blog!  I've not updated since September but no point in going backwards - time to move on.  One thing I am going to do today is write down all my passwords email addresses etc as it's got to the point where I don't remember any of them! It's just too complicated now with passwords, key pad entry no's , phone numbers, PIN numbers etc - how did life suddenly become so hard to navigate!

I'm spending my day off today resting after this horrid chest infection thing that's going round and going to do some art stuff obsessed with recycling junk mail at the moment!  Just an excuse to use paint, stencils, stickers etc and I've watched loads of inspirational you tube videos. The wonder of the internet where these amazing people share their knowledge - I love it.

Now going to try loading on some photos- my blog serves as a diary and it's good to look back and remind myself of what I've done ( shame about the missing few months) lol

It's now April...

And I seem to have completely bypassed March! Gets busier I'm sure the older I get (62 in March) I thought life was meant to slow down a bit .... Just some highlights from that manic month then; Easter, looking after babies, weekend away in brightlingsea, visit to sissinghurst, Mother's Day and seeing mum, catching up with old friends...

Special day

Half term and we arranged to meet up with hannah Amy and Natalie and all 8 grandchildren in Hastings... Chips on the seafront, penny arcades, shopping in George st and watching vic turn green on the fairground ride with tilly - what a brilliant day.

Valentine's Day

Tea in bed and a lie in ( first for so long can't remember when!) exchanged cards and little gifts of chocolate! love Valentine's Day and feeling very grateful for all the love in my life. It's way more important than money or 'stuff' ( except pencils maybe?!!!) but it's what makes the world a better place.

Hello February

Hello February

February, and a step nearer to spring - evenings a bit lighter...thank goodness.
Spent much of the first week looking after the babies or going to work!  Great family get together at 'the ostrich' and a super Sunday lunch.
Just watched suits and now 'create & craft' They are chatting about the 70's - food drink and music and it's quite nostalgic ( blue nun and black tower anyone!) pink floyd and hawkwind ...z cars, the Sweeney ....oh gawd I must be old!

Think I will just make a hot drink and go to bed. Goodnight x

Sunday crafting

First day of feeling 'back to normal' so after the housework etc I decided I must do something with all my bits and pieces so, inspired by the magazine I was reading yesterday, I made a few cards. Two of them are for residents Joan and Liz who had birthdays this weekend and rest ....just because!

Midway January 2016

Half way through January already and I feel like I've wasted so much of it ( not being well) but I need to make sure I don't miss the rest. It's a beautiful cold sunny morning - vics at work and I'm left to my own devices.  Need to catch up on so many jobs I've not been able to do but first I need some breakfast!   There's washing to sort, floors to hoover and stuff to tidy....and then a brisk walk maybe!

Well it's now 2.56am and needless to say I only managed the washing! But I did rest and feel much better although still can't sleep ( hence me writing this at a ridiculous time in the morning ) I also opened my free gift in a  #crafts beautiful magazine from December - a bowmaker - and several 'you tube' demo's later I managed to perfect the perfect bow! Which led me to raid my stash for bits of ribbon. One thing led to another and then I found an old copy of #sewsomerset magazine ( never throw them away) and was inspired ...by everything! So then I started a few collages using the bits in a tin marked 'special stuff' but I've now decided enough is enough and I must sleep. Taken some photos of my work in progress. Goodnight x

Hello January

I'm starting to feel better after two weeks of a chest infection and for fun my daughter suggested I make a video of me colouring ...so I
did! Could this be the start of a new career? Staying indoors enjoying myself ( not sure how one earns money doing it) but we will see! Lol
btw I'm not posting it cos it's a bit rubbish but it was fun to do!

December 2015

My highlights of December- Hannahs birthday, getting ready for Christmas ( I love pretty lights and decorating the house) Xmas shopping in tenterden, 3 family Xmas days and making lots of kusudamas ( my new obsession)

Work was busy and toooo stressful so that I ended up with a nasty chest infection and have been off for last two weeks, only struggling in for 3 hours on Christmas Eve to wrap 37 residents presents and four guests, which nearly finished me off!  However I now feel I'm on the mend and my iPhone has been a life saver, discovering new blogs and IG feeds which have kept me entertained. No tv in my bedroom but I haven't felt like watching anything anyway!

Here's to a new year, being healthy and not working so hard - well I am 61 ( 35 in my head) and have so many things I want to do.....before I'm past it! Lol

Aug 2015

Another month that flew past although a lot happened- it started off so well too. Our first camping trip of the year, diane & gary and us two - off to bodiam for a long weekend. Then it all went downhill-mum not well, went to hospital then respite. Hannah seriously ill with sepsis for five days - agonising wait while they got her better in the conquest... Little Jonah had colic and Jude got tonsillitis ... We had fun too though with Natalie and James housewarming party in Rayleigh, celebrating our 33 years of married bliss and attending Ree and Craig's wedding...visit to rye, walked nursery, king john nursery, discovering beals, spending time with the grandchildren at the hop farm, Joel and Natalie's anniversary, and lots of birthdays.. Tilly turned 14, Maggie, sharon, Daniel, got older!  Even managed to fit in going to work, and doing some colouring to keep me calm. Vics garden continues to delight..as summer draws to a close
